College Supply Holder under $20

Being in college I've done a lot of things to keep my pens, pencils, calculator, and post it notes organized.  My old system was using a clear skinny bag. Using this system everything is organized and in one place. I love it I can take the bag and go. I never leave anything behind. And getting ready to start summer classes I'll be using my desk a lot more and having all my supplies in one spot will come in hand.

I bought mine at Ulta. There are 3 different kinds!

Here is an over view of what the bag looks like inside

The side pocket, and the striped bag

Then theres a clear bag and a side that holds brushes

And here is everything that came out of the other bag I was using (some I added)

1. Post it notes (I added)
2. Sharpie Pens
3. Highlighters
4. Sharpie Markers
5. Pencils
6. Flags
7. Mini Stapler
8. Index Cards (I added)
9. calculator
10. Eraser
11. White out                                                                                   12. Extra eraser, lead

The left side pocket holds my
- white out
- calculator
- mini stapler
The stripped bag holds
- eraser
- lead
- tabs

 Clear Bag
-Post it Notes and index cards

The Brush holders holds
- Sharpie Pens
- Highlighters
- Pencils
- Black sharpie

I love this because I can carry everything in it and I never lose anything. It can be big and bluky but if you move stuff around it will all even out (fits in backpack perfectly and a bigger purse)

Hope you enjoy! And make your own.

*Updated: I added a few things when I updated my planner organization
-Poka Dots Stickers  (these aren't the exact things but there right next to it in the store I believe there around $1.97)
- Tabs (at Wal-Mart)
- Labels (I found at Michael's on sale for .99 cents)
I put the circle and labels in the clear pocket, and the note post it. The small post it and tabs I put in the striped bag.

Craft your way to a Coupon Holder

Coupon Holder: Supplies Felt I used old felt from a school project I believe they're 4 for $1 at Hobby Lobby.
Then a ruler, hot glue gun, scissors, ribbon, thread, and a button

I had felt glue but it takes 4 hours to dry so I just used a hot glue gun

Now to get started I took the big felt piece

Then I measured other felt piece half way (to where it folded up) and over layer them then hot glued to make a pocket, I believe I ended up with 7 holders all together.

Time to get it to close, I took thread and a button (I only used one) sewed it from the back and attached the button. Then I took ribbon and glued it from the back and wrapped it around to loop around the button on the front.

I even attached a small piece to hold a pen/pencil.
And now you are done, it took me about an hour to finish it but I did it off a whim. So I hope you like it.

EXTRA TIPS:
If I made another one I would have went to a craft store and bought a board of some kind and glued the felt to the board to make it stand up better.

My Two favorite Coupon Holder/ Organizers

My Favorite Ways to Hold Coupons:
Binder Style, Divider Style
First you need a small binder, I got mine from Wal-Mart for around $5
Tabs at Wal-Mart $5
And a fine point Sharpie

I got these dividers from Wal-Mart around $3

I also got small paper and hole punched it to write down anything I may need (price book, list of items I need to buy)

Then I got clear protected covers at Office Depot for around $3. I wrote the category on the clear pockets and then used the tabs.
I put the coupons in the pockets and you have a coupon binder: Small version I believe. My favorite thing about this binder is it fits really well in the shopping cart.
My Second Coupon Holder:
And probably my favorite
My list of things I used
1. A bag of old scrap paper
2. Pencil
3. Scissors
4. And my binder I got from Wal-Mart $4

I take the tabs and trace around them on scrap paper to make them pretty.

My tabs in ABC orderOrganize them how ever you'd like of course

The finish product all my tabs and they even look pretty.

How to Stay Organized in College Using a Planner, Calendar, and a To Do List

THIS PLANNER IS FROM WAL-MART I BELIEVE I PAID AROUND $13

I'm an organized person at heart but when I started college I new I'd have to step it up. And that's what I'm going to share with you guys.

This is the inside, I  LOVE planners that are big because I write everything and the small planners just weren't cutting it anymore.

Okay to get on to how I organize it.....
1. Organizing Classes
I write my classes out on each day, then leave a couple lines in between to write what were doing that day or homework assignments
example...

MONDAY:
Bio:

Math:

TUESDAY:
Bio:

EDUC:

GEOL:

As shown below, I use to have a color for each class in my old planner but I found that to be a pain so now I use whatever pen/pencil I have in my hand during class.

This is what a full week looks like in my planner A LOT of writing (to me anyways).

(picture didn't clear up like I wanted, sorry)

2. How I keep it organized with in my planner.
I Circle the important stuff such as test, assignments, or meetings
I also write on the day, that homework was assigned then next to it when its due.
And my most favorite, I high light EVERY assignment once it's done. I just started the high lighting        this semester and I love it so much.

3. The TO DO List
Another thing I do with assignments is on the Friday day I make a weekend To Do List. I write on the day the assignments due/assigned along with on the To Do list. Then once I finish something I high light it off both places. This just lets me see it in multiple places and I'm a big check stuff off as I go kind of person.

4. Other Systems
My calendar and To Do list in my room is another way I keep everything organized.
The Calendar I bought from Hobby Lobby- if you use a 40% off coupon its $10 :)
The white board I bought from Wal- Mart, around $5 then decorated it (I have a tutorial how I did it once I post it to my blog I'll link it)

This system works because I get tired of looking at my planner when I'm at home. That's why once I get home from school I write everything I got assigned that day on my TO DO list. Then I get started on finishing it all. I usually write the day it ALL due really big and that becomes my goal.

Now I know every person is different in how they stay organized, but this system works very well for me. I've been using this system since I started College, a year and half ago. And have only missed turning in ONE essay. Other then that all my homework is turned in on time.
So give it a try, comment, or leave me some advice how I could improve it. I hope you enjoyed, thanks so much.

My College Experience/ Survival Tips

I am a sophomore in college on my fourth semester, so I've had my share of college experience.
I can say one thing I'm going to a community college; therefore I'm use to the SMALL college environment.

Why I go to a community college?
I got a scholarship called A+  the summary is you get TWO free years at a community college with in your state.
Some basic things about it are:

•   It only last four years AFTER you finish high school
•   You have to keep a 2.5 GPA at all times
•   Fail a class you get put on a academic probation
•   You only pay for books
I don't know if it’s available to each state.

But, anyways on to my college experience-
Lets just start off by saying I was scared to death to go to college, like crying and shaking scared. The sad part is the college I go to is about the size of a Walgreens (not even joking- there actually rebuilding a new one right now). So being scared was funny at least to my boyfriend.
Being scared is okay though, it something new and COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THEN HIGH SCHOOL.

The first day I was going to school to become a Physical Therapist, I was taking basic classes to start off with, then my anatomy and physiology class. After two weeks I wasn't happy with my major anymore and did a completely 360 (well to me it was) and changed my major to Elementary/ Early Childhood Education. So after that decision I was set and went on about my first semester. The first day I made friends I has 3 classes with them so we just stayed together.

The things I learned,
1.Don't buy any schools supplies till YOU GET TO CLASS, and then ask what they think you'll need.  (I buy everything before hand and had way to much left over)
2. Buy a big planner see here for what I mean. A planner will be your life savor in college literally. The big planner it's a lot easier to write all my classes stuff on instead of cramming it on a little one.
3.Get an email if you don't have one, sometime the college gives you one but I don't always use that one.
4.Buy your books before the first day of class- it's crazy the first day so avoid it
5.Were you sit the first day usually is where you are ALL semester long/ the people around you become your lab partners PICK WISELY! I always pick up close to the front and toward the end of the table you can see all the notes better (yes I no teachers pet but I get side tract really easy if I'm not up front).
6.Make a least one friend in each class- you need to make one friend to be able to email, Facebook, text and get information if you miss a day. I say this because I am a keep to myself and don't talk much unless it's to the instructor. (Some of my instructors will email what went on in class that day if you email them saying you can't make it.
7.Don't expect to miss EVERY single day of class then show up for finals YOU WILL NOT PASS! Most people who do this I never see again. Remember it’s a small college you'll see everyone once or twice.
8.Have a study plan; break days up to study for curtain classes. What I do is complete things as they are due
Example: If I have math due on Tuesday then I’m not going to work on the history I have due Thursday. Finish things, as they are due first.
     9. Learn to get sleep. The whole stay up all night and study crap doesn't work! I actually heard of a study, people who study then went to bed at a decent time did better on test. Then those who study and stayed up all night did worse.
    10. Find a place to study- this place will be where you are always going to go to study. My example I studied in my bed for a whole semester then I found my self not being able to sleep at night because my bed was for studying not sleeping. So I bought a desk and started studying there it made a big difference. I really did.
    11. And the last but best advice I can give (as of right now) is each instructor should (might) give a syllabus  Spring 2014 Course Schedule this will be your best friend through college.
•   I have a teacher who gives a week-by-week guide to what to expect.
•   I also have teachers who give you stuff each day so it’s important to show up to these classes.
College is something everyone should get to experience I know its not always possible but don't think you can't ever go back because you can. And never give up! Get through those test, essays, and math assignments. I promise when you start check marking off the classes and get closer to your degree it makes all those rough day worth it.

Organizing Your College School Binder

I'm getting ready to start my 4th semester of College, and you could say I've tired every kind of organization tick out there to keep me on set ahead of homework. And I have finally found something I really like and I hope you do to.

Reason's why I like this system.
1. EVERYTHING is with me at all times. (I have time in between classes each day so this allows me to work on other homework instead of just that days)
2. I can keep better track of everything, instead of having stuff in all different kinds of notebooks or folders.

Well now lets get started to achieve this Organization Binder
Supplies Needed
1. 3 inch Ring Binder
2. Four Pocket Hole Folders (I have 4 classes, but wanted another one for extra papers)

3. I have a 5 subject notebook (I use college rule) for all my education classes, and a assignment notebook (I bought mine at Wal-Mart for like $3, I can't fine this one anywhere now) I would just trade out of the other single notebooks for that day.
*If I new I had homework in math but it wasn't math day I would just simply take that math notebook with me to school to do it during my breaks.

4. Notebook Paper, I use college rule

 5. Flag/ Tabs (I bought the ones in picture at Wal-Mart, I can't find them online they were about $4-7 and you can get big or small tabs I have the big ones here, but the one linked would work also, and a Fine Point Sharpie

Now to Get Started
First I decorated my 3 Inch Ring Binder to do this I get out my craft suit case and get my paper     cutter, paper, and Elmer's Craft Bond Glue

I used my scrap book paper and picked some of my favorite papers

These are the ones I liked

After measuring and cutting I have this as the finish product.
Of course I added some picture.

The side of it

The back of the binder is the same yellow bumble bee color as the front

Then I have The Finished Inside Product

1st. I have my class Schedule (upper left hand corner, I actually have a printed copy now)

2nd. I have the Red Assignment Book
I love this assignment book, because you can write down the class- assignment- when its due- and it even has a place to √ it off when you've completed that homework

3rd. I have Notebook Paper, this is just to jot down anything last minute

4th. Each class has a folder one side of the folder says HOMEWORK the other say Paperwork

Just a close up of the tabs I have Biology, Math, Education, Geography, and then an extra folder to keep misc stuff in. I also have the class in order for which day of the week they come.
To make these tabs I just wrote the name of the class, then I paper clip it to the folder and use clear tape, to tape the BIG part of the paper clip inside the folder, so the tab doesn't fall off.

And last I'm a Education Major and this 5 subject notebook has all my education classes in it. I keep this in my binder at all times, because I like having it with me. You could use a 5 subject notebook for all subjects if you'd like. But I like having a separate notebook for each class itself (besides education of course)

And thats it, I love this binder system because I no longer have to hunt for anything anymore. I'm a very organized person and this just gets me excited about learning because in college I believe its very important to get EVERYTHING.
